South West Sydney Legal Centre offers FREE training, workshops and information resources for community members and community workers.
What kind of training do we offer?
We offer seminars on different legal topics and on domestic and family violence matters. This training:
- supports local people to understand their rights and responsibilities under the law and how to access the legal system
- shares skills with community workers and service providers so they can support their clients in these matters.
We offer legal seminars and workshops throughout the year on topical issues and areas of law. We offer seminars for:
- community workers
- clients of different community organisations
- public seminars open to everyone.
For some sessions, we may charge a small fee to cover the cost of venue hire and catering.
If you have a particular topic you need covered, we can create a workshop to cater for the needs and interests of your staff or clients. We can even deliver them at your premises. Let us know if translation is needed for particular language backgrounds.
Our domestic violence workers also provide talks and organise training on issues surrounding domestic violence and its effect on individuals and the community.
Contact our office to arrange a session. Please allow at least 4 weeks’ notice when making enquiries.
Our centre works closely with local service providers. We are committed to making it easier for your clients to access legal services and can arrange a warm referral process between your service and ours. Contact us to discuss how your service and SWSLC can work together to assist your clients and our community.
