South West Sydney Legal Centre provides legal services to people in the Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown Local Government areas who cannot afford private legal representation. We are known for our proactive and energetic approach to service delivery and community engagement initiatives.
We are searching for a proficient, self-motivated, dynamic and well-organised solicitor with demonstrated minimum solid 3 years post admission family law casework and court experience. Your developed experience in the family mediation setting will be particularly valued. So too will your experience in the broader civil law area. Your excellent and flexible interpersonal and communication skills will be utilised to engage with clients from a very broad cultural spectrum.
You must hold a current NSW Law Society Practicing Certificate, driver licence with ability to use your own vehicle (generous travel reimbursement applies) and ideally be in a position to commence employment in September 2017. Proficiency in a second language is very desirable.

South West Sydney Legal Centre (SWSLC) is a not-for-profit organisation, delivering innovative, multi-disciplinary and diverse strategies aimed towards facilitating access to justice in our local communities.
SWSLC auspices several domestic violence programs, including the South West Sydney Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SWSWDVCAS). As part of the “It Stops Here: Safer Pathway” strategy, SWSLC already hosts the Bankstown Local Coordination Point and from September will host the Liverpool Local Coordination Point, a service for all women and children affected by domestic violence in the Bankstown and Liverpool area.
We are seeking Intake and Referral Officers to join our dynamic and friendly teams at Bankstown and Liverpool. You will be part of delivering the government’s new Domestic and Family Violence Reforms, working with a team committed to eliminating violence against women and children.
Intake and Referral Officers will work closely with the SWSWDVCAS Coordinator to provide clients with an effective and streamlined service.
Applicants should have a commitment to empowering women and children affected by domestic and family violence, and have demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis.

Management Committee Volunteers
We are not recruiting volunteers for our Management Committee at this time.
Although SWSLC receives government funding, this is not enough to satisfy the demand for free legal services for the many disadvantaged people in our region. The contribution of volunteers, sponsors and donors is very important to SWSLC’s capacity to increase and extend its services to better meet this need.
SWSLC has charity status. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
